Insulation, privacy and light, in one neat blind

Honeycomb blinds, also called cellular blinds, are an insulating window blind built from concertina-folded fabric that forms hollow six-sided cells across the face of the blind. Those cells trap a layer of still air against the glass, which slows heat transfer in both directions, so your room stays warmer in winter and cooler in summer. The harder your heating and cooling has to work normally, the bigger the saving honeycombs deliver. Beyond the thermal benefit, they are one of the cleanest, most contemporary blind styles, with no visible cords on the face, no slats and no exposed mechanisms. We make them in single cell for everyday rooms, double cell for maximum insulation, and the popular day/night dual configuration where one blind gives you a translucent layer for daytime privacy and a blockout layer behind for night-time. Every blind is custom-cut, finished in our own Australia workroom and installed by our own team.

Three cell types, three insulation levels

The cell type you choose decides how much insulation, privacy and light control you get. Here is how each option performs.

Light Filtering Honeycomb

Translucent and light-filtering cellular fabrics that soften daylight into a warm glow while keeping the cellular insulation benefit. Ideal for living rooms, kitchens and any room where you want bright filtered light.

Blockout Honeycomb

Dense blockout cellular fabrics that stop daylight, sunlight and streetlight entirely, with the full insulating benefit of the honeycomb structure. The best blackout you can get from a blind.

Day/Night Honeycomb

Two blinds in one, a translucent cellular layer for daytime privacy and brightness, and a blockout layer behind for total darkness when you want it. Adjust each independently from the same headrail.

The advantages homeowners notice first

Honeycomb blinds do something no other blind can: they insulate. Combined with their clean modern look and child-safe cordless operation, they are the smart choice for the rooms that matter most.

Energy-efficient insulation

Cellular fabric traps air against the glass to slow heat transfer in summer and winter, the most thermally efficient blind we make.

No exposed cords

Cordless lift options are standard on most ranges, ideal for child-safe homes and a cleaner uncluttered look.

Soft, even light diffusion

Cellular fabric diffuses daylight into a warm even glow across the room, with no harsh lines or visible mechanisms.

Day/night configurations

Run a translucent fabric for daytime and a blockout fabric behind, both adjustable independently from the same headrail.

Top-down, bottom-up

Open the blind from the top for privacy without losing daylight, a uniquely cellular feature, ideal for street-facing rooms.

Slim, contemporary profile

Stacks down to a tight neat band at the top of the window when fully open, with no visible mechanisms or chains.

From first call to finished window

One accountable team handles every step. No subcontractors, no middleman, no surprises.

Operation

Cordless lift is standard. Motorised and smart-home options add to the cost.

Questions homeowners ask us

Honeycomb blinds, also called cellular blinds, are made from concertina-folded fabric that forms hollow six-sided cells across the face of the blind. The cells trap a layer of air against the glass, which slows heat transfer and keeps your room warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Yes, and noticeably so. The trapped air in the cells acts as an insulating layer, particularly effective against radiant heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. Double-cell honeycombs offer the highest insulation rating of any blind style we make.

Single cell has one row of cells. Double cell has two rows for better insulation. Day/night combines a translucent cell with a blockout cell on the same headrail so you can choose privacy or darkness independently.

Yes, and cordless lift is the standard option on most ranges. It is safer for homes with children and pets, and gives a cleaner uncluttered look. Motorised options are also available for hands-free operation.

Yes. Quiet rechargeable motors operate the blind via remote, wall switch or smart-home control, with battery life typically six to twelve months between charges.

Yes. A consultant comes to your Australia home, measures every window precisely, shows you cell and fabric samples, and provides an itemised written quote at no cost and with no obligation to proceed.
