Outdoor rooms, built to last

A pergola is a freestanding or attached outdoor structure that creates a defined, shaded outdoor space. Modern pergolas are far more than a timber frame and battens; ours come with engineered structural framing in aluminium, Colorbond steel or hardwood timber, a roof option that ranges from open beams to fully waterproof louvres or retractable canvas, and integrations for lighting, ceiling fans, heaters and even Zip Track outdoor blinds at the sides. The result is a true outdoor room that turns a backyard, deck or alfresco area into usable space year-round. Every pergola is engineered for Australia wind and rain loads, council-compliant where required, and built by the same team that handles the rest of your outdoor furnishings.

Three roof types, three different lifestyles

The roof you choose decides how the space will feel and what it can do. Solid and simple, fully controllable, or open-when-you-want it. Here is how each one performs.

Fixed Roof Pergolas

A permanent roof in Colorbond steel, polycarbonate or timber battens for full daytime shade and weather protection. The most cost-effective option and the easiest to retrofit lighting and fans to.

Louvered Pergolas

Motorised opening louvres that tilt to let in sun or close to block rain. Total control over light, shade and ventilation, with rain sensors that close the roof automatically when the weather turns.

Retractable Roof Pergolas

A retractable canvas or PVC roof that opens for sun and closes for shade or rain. The flexibility of an open pergola when you want it, with full cover when you need it.

The advantages homeowners notice first

A well-built pergola is the single biggest upgrade you can make to an outdoor area, the difference between a backyard you visit on weekends and an everyday room. Here is what makes ours different.

Engineered for Australia

Wind and rain load engineering for typical Australia sites, with heavier hardware specified for exposed or harbour-side locations.

Year-round outdoor rooms

Turn a deck or backyard into a usable outdoor space twelve months of the year, in any Australia weather conditions.

Roof choice, lifestyle choice

Fixed for simplicity, louvered for control, retractable for flexibility. Pick the lifestyle you want, then we engineer the structure to match.

Built-in lighting & fans

Integrated downlights, ceiling fans, infrared heaters and outdoor speakers, pre-wired during the build so the finish looks designed in.

Pairs with Zip Tracks

Combine the pergola roof with Zip Track outdoor blinds on the sides for a fully enclosed all-weather outdoor room.

Council-compliant builds

We handle the engineering certificates and council applications where required, so you do not have to chase the paperwork.

From first call to finished window

One accountable team handles every step. No subcontractors, no middleman, no surprises.

What affects the cost of a custom pergola

Pergolas cover a wide price range, because the choices matter. These are the main factors that shape your quote.

Frame material

Aluminium, Colorbond steel and hardwood timber frames each sit at different price points.

Add-ons

Integrated lighting, ceiling fans, infrared heaters and Zip Track outdoor blinds each add to the total.

Roof type

Fixed roof is the standard. Louvered and retractable roof systems add to the build cost.

Size & engineering

Larger spans and exposed sites need heavier engineering, which affects the build.

Questions homeowners ask us

We build pergolas to suit any outdoor space, from compact 3m by 3m courtyard structures to large 8m+ span entertaining areas. Sizes are dictated more by the site, your council requirements and the roof type chosen than by us; the consultant works through the right size at the measure.

It depends on the size, location and your specific council. Many smaller attached pergolas fall under “exempt development” rules in NSW and need no approval; larger structures, or any structure in a heritage area, usually require a Complying Development Certificate or DA. We guide you through the process and provide engineering drawings either way.

A fixed-roof pergola has a permanent roof (Colorbond, polycarbonate or timber battens). A louvered pergola has motorised slats that open and close, letting you control sun, shade and rain. Louvered is more expensive, but the control is unmatched.

Yes. We pre-wire the structure during build for downlights, ceiling fans, strip lighting, infrared heaters and outdoor speakers, so the finished pergola looks integrated rather than retrofitted.

Most projects are completed within a few weeks of approval, depending on the chosen roof type and any council requirements. Louvered and retractable systems take slightly longer than fixed-roof builds. The exact timing is confirmed with your written quote.

Yes. A consultant comes to your home, measures the space precisely, walks you through frame, roof and add-on options, and provides an itemised written quote at no cost and with no obligation to proceed.
